HIGHEST PAID ACTRESSES IN 2017. (JANUARY- JUNE)

My Watuz have you missed me? Well I missed you too. I am sorry the silence has been real,I was on set of an upcoming movie for a week so with the early call time and late wrap-ups,it took a toll on me but am BACK PEEPS.(I will soon write about what happens on a movie set).

Late week I compiled a post on the Top 5 Highest paid Actors in 2017. I  got a lot of responses with questions like ‘Where the ladies at?’. So  I decided since we are celebrating mid year achievements why not celebrate the ladies that bank the big cheques.

They say ‘what a man can do a woman can do better’.I present the women who handle it all from being home makers , walking in heels ,being on set for months,mothers to amazing children to being Holly Wood’s most wanted(in a good way).

Let me get into the Five (5)Highest Paid Actresses in 2017(January-June).

N.B ; This not a ranking on  their net-worth but how they are paid in movies.

5. FAN  BINGBING.

I know all of you are surprised to see her name on the list well ,Fan is a Chinese actress, television producer and pop singer.

Born 16 September 1981,she rose to fame in Asia in 1998-1999 with the mega-hit TV series My Fair Princess. In 2003, she starred in Cell Phone, which became the highest-grossing Chinese film of the year, winning a Hundred Flowers Award. She looks like a barbie doll on a shelf she is so pretty.

In 2007, Fan left her management company to establish Fan Bingbing Studio. Since then she has produced TV series that she also starred in, and her TV show The Empress of China, believed to be the most expensive Chinese series in history.

 

She began to spread her roots to the America Movie Scene when she starred in the  Hollywood blockbuster X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014).

With a net-worth of $ 17 million (Ksh.1.7 billion) She topped the Forbes China Celebrity 100 list in 2013 and 2014, after ranking in the top 10 every year since 2006. She was also named the 4th on the Forbes list of Highest-Paid Actresses for 2015; earning $21 million(Ksh. 2.1 billion).

This mama has been in the industry since I can remember from the days of Friends to date consistence maaan!!She is also aging like fine wine. She is no stranger to fame and the millions that come with it.

Jenni is an American actress, producer, and businesswoman.Born 48 years ago, she is the daughter of Greek-born actor John Aniston and American actress Nancy Dow so acting runs in her veins.

Jennifer had her first taste of acting at age 11, since she was always spending time with her parents on set while on school holidays.

In 1994, a pilot called “Friends Like These” came along.Sh auditioned for the role of “Rachel Green“. With the success of the series Friends (1994), Jennifer has become famous and sought-after as she turns her fame into movie roles during the series hiatus.She has primarily acted in comedies and romantic comedies.

She was married to legendary actor Brad Pitt for 5 years before their divorce. With a net-worth of $ 200 million (Ksh. 2 billion), Jenni was named one of People magazine’s Most Beautiful People in the World (1999).

With 38 awards to her name including a Golden Globe,in the past few year, she has settled for mild roles.

3.SCARLETT JOHANSSON.

I always confuse her looks to Charlize Theron ,I think they have a level of resemblance. Oh Well! Scarlett is an American actress, model, and singer. I didn’t know she sings.She was born to a Danish father and Jewish mother 33 years ago,she has a sister, Vanessa Johansson who is also an actress,a twin brother, Hunter Johansson born three minutes after her.

She made her film debut in the fantasy comedy, North in 1994 and since then her shine has shone bright.She shifted to adult roles with her performances in 2003 with her breaking role in Lost  in Translation(2003) that earned her an award as Best Actress in   Venice Film Festival.

She went further to star in Mission :Impossible ( 2006) but later dropped out due to scheduling conflicts.She has featured in more than three Hollywood blockbusters.She played her character, Black Widow, in action films The Avengers (2012),  Captain America : The Winter Soldier (2014),  Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015),Captain America:Civil War (2016), and  to be released  Avengers:Infinity War (2018).

In her 2017 role in the sci-fi action thriller, Ghost In The Shell, she earned $ 17.5 million (Ksh.1.75 billion) for her role. Dear Lord! This was a big contributor to her net worth of $ 100 million (Ksh.10 billion).

I love love this woman in fact no! I adore Melissa. She is a representation of confidence and self belief. Melissa Ann McCarthy was born in Plainfield, Illinois, to Sandra and Michael McCarthy, a farmer. She is an American actress, comedian, writer, fashion designer and producer. I mean look at all those roles under her belt.

She began appearing in television and films in the late 1990s, and first gained nationwide recognition for her role as Sookie St.James on the television series Gilmore Girls (2000–2007). She returned to work 3 months after giving birth to her daughter Vivian to begin filming the 1st season of Samantha Who?(2007).

In the 2010s, McCarthy became known for her starring roles in the films Bridesmaids (2011), The Heat (2013),St.Vincent (2014),Spy (2015), and Ghost-busters (2016). She has an impressive net worth of $ 50 million (Ksh. 5 billion).

She is married to producer Ben Falcone, who produced Tammy which she starred in.

Despite 2016’s Ghostbusters being a massive flop, Melissa McCarthy still pocketed the bulk of her earnings in 2016 from the film. She also acted in The Boss,which is one of my favorite movies.

By age 23, she became the youngest actress to be nominated for 3 Oscars, including two of them for leading role, one of which she won.She then gave the Oscar to her parents, who keep it in their home in Louisville, Kentucky, because she felt “odd” having it in her own house.

 

At only 26,has been the highest-paid actress in the world, and her films have grossed over $5.5 billion(Ksh. 550 billion) worldwide. She has also received Magazine features  such as one of People magazine’s Most Beautiful People in the World (2011), Variety magazine’s Top Ten Actors to Watch (2010), number 10 on Maxim magazine’s Hot 100 Women of 2011 list among others.

According to Forbes she was the highest paid actress for 2015 and 2016.With a net worth $110 million (Ksh.11 billion) Jenni is the face to beat in Hollywood.
